At Great Shepherd’s Pathway Inc, we are blessed to serve alongside people who give not only their time, but their hearts. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our most dedicated volunteers—Sister Tatejanna and her children., a woman whose faith, warmth, and servant spirit have touched countless lives.
🌅 Morning: Starting with Prayer
For Sister Janice, every day begins with quiet time in the Word.
“Before I serve others,” she says, “I need to hear from the Lord.”
At 8:00 AM, she arrives at our community center with a smile and a prayer. She greets each team member and often leads a short devotion before the doors open. Her favorite verse?
“And let us not grow weary of doing good…” — Galatians 6:9
🧺 Mid-Morning: Preparing Care Packages
From 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Sister Janice helps pack grocery bags, hygiene kits, and clothing items for distribution. She knows most families by name and often slips in handwritten encouragement cards or prayer notes.
“These aren’t just items—they’re seeds of love. People need to know someone sees them.”
She checks every bag twice, making sure each one is filled with essentials and care.
🕊️ Afternoon: Listening, Loving, and Praying
By noon, the line outside the center begins to grow. This is when Sister Janice truly shines.
Instead of simply handing out items, she stops and listens—to stories of struggle, heartbreak, and sometimes even joy. She offers prayers on the spot, often with tears in her eyes. Many call her the “heart of the outreach.”
“Sometimes people just need someone to hear them. That’s where healing begins.”
✝️ Late Afternoon: Mentorship and Ministry
After distribution ends, she sits with a few young women for one-on-one mentoring. Some have lost jobs, others face family struggles or addiction recovery. Sister Janice doesn’t have all the answers, but she offers wisdom, scripture, and a shoulder to cry on.
“They’re daughters of the King.”
🌇 Evening: Reflecting on the Day
At the end of the day, she helps clean up, hugs every volunteer, and takes a quiet moment to reflect. She doesn’t ask for recognition or praise. For her, serving is worship.
“This ministry has given me more than I could ever give back. It’s changed me.”
🙌 Why Volunteers Like Sister Tatejanna and her children Matter
Volunteers like Sister Janice are the heartbeat of Great Shepherd’s Pathway Inc. Through simple acts of service—packing, praying, listening—they embody the love of Christ in real, tangible ways.
Her story reminds us that ministry doesn’t always look like a pulpit. Sometimes it looks like holding a hand, sharing a sandwich, or saying a prayer.
💛 Want to Join Us?
If Sister Janice’s story inspires you, we invite you to be part of this mission. You don’t need to have all the answers—just a willing heart and a love for people.
